Getting around

How to Reach Us

Navigating through the streets of Piran can be challenging, and sooner or later you are bound to get lost, probably several times. To ensure a smooth arrival to our guesthouse, here are some tips to finding your way to us.

ARRIVING ON FOOT (FROM THE BUS STATION)

Once you arrive at the bus station, continue on foot by the dock, towards the city centre, Tartini Square (5 min). As you reach the square, on your left you will see City Hall – a big white/light blue palace with flags –  and the coffee shop Mestna Kavarna next to it.

  • You can stop at the Tourist Information Centre inside City Hall and ask for a map of the city. Be sure to ask the ladies at the desk to mark our guesthouse on the map.

Take the street Zelenjavni trg between Mestna Kavarna and City Hall and continue straight ahead on Verdijeva street until you reach a smaller square – the First of May Square (Prvomajski trg). You will recognize it immediately by the two allegorical statues representing Justice and Law.

  • Streets can be daunting, especially in a foreign country. Every building in Piran is marked with a red sign on which you can read the street’s name, both in Slovene and Italian. Just look up and search for a red sign on the edge of the building.

Cross the square to the other side, until you reach the restaurant Rostelin and pass by it. Enter into Bonifacijeva street and continue straight for another 100 m. On your right, next to some stairs, you should see Old Town Rooms Piran.

ARRIVING BY CAR (PARKING)

ARRIVAL OPTION FOR GUESTS WITH LIGHT LUGGAGE

First, park your car in the ARZE PARKING GARAGE, above the city. If you drive towards Piran on Belokriška street and follow the street signs for Fiesa, you should find the garage on your right, next to the town’s cemetery. Parking at Arze costs 15 EUR per day. Next to the garage, you can also find a smaller parking lot, where parking costs 13 EUR per day.

Afterwards, a short 7-minute walk along Ulica IX. korpusa street will lead you directly from the garage to Tartini Square. Cross the square and take the street Zelenjavni trg between Mestna Kavarna and City Hall and continue straight ahead on Verdijeva street until you reach a smaller square – the First of May Square (Prvomajski trg). You will recognize it immediately by the two allegorical statues representing Justice and Law.

Cross the square to the other side, until you reach the restaurant Rostelin and pass by it. Enter into Bonifacijeva street and continue straight for another 100 m. On your right, next to some stairs, you should see Old Town Rooms Piran.

Parking is also possible in the FORNAČE PARKING GARAGE. As you drive down to Piran’s centre by the sea, you will find the garage on your left side. A free shuttle bus departs from the garage to Tartini Square every 15  minutes or you can decide to walk into the city. Parking at Fornače costs 22 EUR per day.

ARRIVAL OPTION FOR GUESTS WITH HEAVY LUGGAGE

First, drive to the town barrier and take a ticket (at the check-in we can provide you with a confirmation letter, which will allow you to stay in the city with your car up to an hour, free of charge; the letter will be needed when you drive out to park in one of the city’s garages). After you pass the barrier, follow the road by the sea for as long as you can, and you should find Hotel Piran on your left. You can find parking spots in a small circular parking lot next to Hotel Piran. Please be aware that these are reserved only for locals. If you do not find any vacant spots, park your car so that other cars can still drive past you without difficulty.

From the parking lot continue on foot and turn into the street on your right until you reach Restaurant Delfin and the First of May Square next to it. Cross the square to the other side, until you reach the restaurant Rostelin and pass by it. Enter into Bonifacijeva street and continue straight for another 100 m. On your right, next to some stairs, you should see Old Town Rooms Piran.

Should you have any troubles during arrival, you are welcome to call our mobile number 00386 31 363 666 and the staff will help you find your way to us.
